I remembered a small plastic octagon fish tank I had and dug it out, cleaned it and put it in the small fish pond. Unfortunately I stirred up the dirt on the bottom that seeped out of the lily when I put it in, so the water is a bit brownish, but

 New Pond...Green Water!?!

My new pond (2300G)is up and running with may be 3 to 4 Sarassa (a few inches long). When the pond was a few weeks old the water was crystal clear and then all of a sudden it turned green. PH level is 7.5 and I have a home made bio-filter.

Soooo Happy with pond rebuild, restocked fish and planted up waterlilies, I think that the otter, if/when it comes back will have a harder time catching the fish with the pondlily baskets back in place! Return to the Ponds & Aquatic
