 Letting Jam Stand - Fridge or room temp?

Many recipes call for letting berries and sugar stand in between or before boiling's. Nowhere can I find if this should be in the Fridge, or at room temp. What do you do, and does the fridge reduce the flavour. Thanks. Follow-Up Pos
