I don't have luck saving zinnia seed. I have been deadheading this morning. I tore one pod open, but there doesn't seem to be any seed inside. What is the best way to save zinnia seed. I am only saving the brown heads. Follow-Up Posting

If you save spent zinnia heads &let them dry out they will be free seeds forever. Put them in a ziplock bag, crush the heads and cover with soil! Follow-Up Postings: RE: Saving zinna seeds Return to the Seed Saving Forum

This year I grow Wowie Yellow Flame Zinna. I loved it very much. I am not sure if it is hybrid? I would love to harvest those seeds to save for next year planting. I wanted to know more about it. Thank you, Kat Follow-Up Postings:

OK - dumb question - but if I save these seeds to replant for next year, will I get this variety, or will it revert back to a parent plant. (Sorry, not sure how all of this botany works - but would LOVE to learn!!!) Follow-Up Postings:
